THIS IS AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR MEMBERS OF BUFA

You will have received a notice from the Pension Trustees of the Brandon University Retirement Plan stating that the Employer intends to elect to be exempt from making special payments into the Pension Plan in the event of a solvency deficiency.

BUFA IS VEHEMENTLY OPPOSED TO THIS for several reasons, many of which are covered in the attached Q&A document. Please read it carefully. Tell your friends. A grievance has already been filed.

We urge all BUFA members to become informed about the long-lasting ramifications of such an election and to voice their opinions in the appropriate venues.

This affects not only BUFA members, but all other employees of Brandon University except the President.
