Brandon University Faculty Association ******FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*****OCTOBER 6, 2008 B.U. NEGOTIATIONS RECESSED B.U. NEGOTIATIONS RECESSED Face-to-face negotiations between the Brandon University Faculty Association (BUFA) and the Employer have been recessed, after a 1 ½ hour session this afternoon. "On Sunday afternoon, BUFA presented a comprehensive proposal to the Employer with the expectation that a complete counterproposal would be tabled today," said Chief negotiator Joe Dolecki. "The Employer regrettably simply refused to submit a salary counter-offer and the meeting was recessed," he added. Meanwhile, the Brandon University Students Union (BUSU) will be holding a rally in support of BUFA at Stanley Park, about noon tomorrow. Representatives from BUSU, BUFA and the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT) are scheduled to speak. BUFA has been on strike since Monday, September 29, 2008.
