Public Compensation News Release Misleading Earlier today, Brandon University issued the Brandon University Public Sector Compensation Document as a Press Release. It should be noted that this document discloses total compensation which includes overload payments for teaching in excess of the assignable maximum. BUFA members may teach up to 12 extra credit hours on overload at the rate of $4,535 per 3 credit hour course. Therefore the quoted figures are the actual amounts paid in 2007, but do not necessarily represent annual salaries in that they include salary plus overload. The document also includes academic administrators (non BUFA members) who are not identified as such and who receive administrative decanal stipends. For example, one Dean is identified as an Associate Professor with a salary of $122,430.60 while the ceiling of the Associate Professor Rank is $101,052. At least this difference and possibly more is the Dean's stipend.
