Brandon University Faculty Association ******FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*****OCTOBER 15, 2008 BUFA and BU Board Reach Tentative Agreement The negotiating teams for the Brandon University Faculty Association (BUFA) and the Brandon University Board of Governors announced late this afternoon that a tentative agreement has been reached in the ongoing dispute at Brandon University. The lockout and the strike ended at 6:00 pm Wednesday October 15, 2008. BUFA members will return to work at 8:30 am Thursday October 16, 2008. Classes will recommence the following day, Friday, October 17, 2008. Details of the agreement will not be made public pending ratification. BUFA has been on a legal strike and locked out since Monday September 29, 2008. BUFA represents approximately 240 full-time, part-time, and sessional employees at Brandon University - including Professors, Librarians, Instructional Associates, and Administrative Associates. -- 30 -- For Further Information Contact: |
