An application for a teaching workload reduction shall be submitted, through the Department, to the Dean/Director. The application shall be accompanied by a recommendation from the applicant's Department. The accompanying recommendation shall take into account academic and financial requirements of the Department/Faculty/School and the assessment of the overall needs of the University. The Dean's/Director's recommendation shall include a review of the effect of the loss of credit hours of instruction to the Department and the Faculty/School and the specific measures required to address the effect of the loss of credit hours of instruction. The President shall make the decision on the application.
